Loanee full-back cryptically hints at new manager arrival

The hunt for a new manager continues to drag on, with names being mentioned left, right and centre over the last month or so. Roy Keane, Jesse Marsch, Frank Lampard and Eddie Howe have all been names constantly linked with the managerial role at Paradise; yet a potential blunder from on-loan winger Diego Laxalt tonight has given Celtic fans plenty of hope that the latter of those four, Howe, may be on his way to Glasgow in the coming weeks.

Laxalt, who has been at Celtic Park for the best part of a year now, has displayed some sturdy performances in both the left-back and left wing positions under Neil Lennon and John Kennedy this season – with many news outlets suggesting a permanent move for the Uruguayan, given his temporary status as a loanee from AC Milan. Diego has definitely settled into life in Glasgow more over the last few weeks, and with the left-back slot looking rather thing next year should Boli Bolingoli be ostracised from the squad, reinforcements are needed.

And, in arguably the best thing he has done for the club up to press, Laxalt has cryptically hinted at Howe’s impending arrival as he answered a fans’ question whilst playing the popular video game Fortnite live on stream.

Fans rightfully chuckled at the news, with some claiming it would be another ‘addition to the banter year’ Celtic have suffered recently, although it is a step in the right direction at that.

It certainly would be a good appointment if Howe was to sign a contract in the East end of Glasgow; and given his ability at improving players around him, Laxalt may well flourish under the Englishman next season should he sign permanently.
