According to a report from Ukraine, Luis Palma has been offered to Dynamo Kyiv in what is another bizarre twist in the transfer tale for the out-of-favour Celtic winger…

Luis Palma is currently on loan at Greek Super League outfit Olympiacos but it is still up in the air whether or not they plan on turning his temporary spell into a permanent one.
Palma arrived in Celtic’s summer 2023 transfer window
The Honduran, like a raft of others who was brought in during the summer transfer window of 2023, just didn’t hit the standard required consistently to play for the Hoops and was farmed out on a loan deal to get him minutes. Brendan Rodgers persevered with the wide man for a while but apart from sporadic glimpses, could never really make that attacking flank his own.

Olympiacos have a £3.5 million option-to-buy
The deal that has taken him to Greece also included a £3.5 million option-to-buy if the star performed well enough to tempt the club to trigger that clause. However, it appears that as it stands now, the Greek side won’t be taking up that option as nothing has been reported in the media or official club channels – which means he would return to Glasgow when his deal with the Europa League holders expires.
Meanwhile, that report from DynamoKyiv.ua goes as follows:
“According to our information, Dynamo has offered a Celtic player, namely Luis Palma. He is a left winger, a player of the Honduras national team. Let’s see how Dynamo will look at him this summer.”
That seems to look like Palma’s agent is now well aware that there’s nothing happening for him at Celtic and that the player has failed to make an impression at Olympiacos so is now busy looking at possible alternatives with the contact made with Dynamo Kyiv making it into the media.

Palma’s agent is working hard
With no future at Celtic Park to speak of, Palma’s agent will be trying really hard to find the winger new employment elsewhere as Rodgers doesn’t seem like he fancies him in his squad. An expensive signing when he first arrived, Celtic will be looking to maximise the returns on a player who has undoubted talent but was another who couldn’t handle the weight of the jersey at Paradise.

A summer solution has to be found
Hopefully something comes up and a resolution can be reached for the Honduran international. It would be best for all involved. Luis dissing Celtic in the Honduran media, if the reports are to be believed, certainly will do him no favours at Lennoxtown.
