Maryan Shved hails ‘great atmosphere’ at Celtic Park

SOMEWHERE in Turkey this evening, where the Karpaty Lviv players are at their winter training camp, Maryan Shved will sit in front of a television and tune in to the Europa League clash from Celtic Park between his new club and La Liga giants Valencia.

It’s an occasion that is certain to whet the appetite of the 21 year old who signed for Celtic in a £1.75million deal in January before going back to Karpaty Lviv to see out the season.

Shved will be back in Glasgow by the start of April to begin training with his new team-mates and he can’t wait and he has no problem with dealing with the physical aspects of the game – he must have been watching the Rangers with thugs like Morelos and McGregor in their team!

“There’s many stereotypes about Scottish football, but not all of them are true,” Maryan told the media.

“Ukrainian football is also tough. And to be honest, do you think Celtic would really have wanted to sign me if they thought I could not handle the physical side of the game in Scotland? I don’t think so.

“We will see, but I am certainly not worried about it. I am a Celtic player now and I am really looking forward to going to Glasgow.

“For the moment, I will give everything for Lviv and we will try and win the Cup here. When I went to Scotland, there was a great atmosphere at Celtic Park. It’s certainly a very different set of fans than what I am used to.

“I think it will help my chances of playing for Ukraine again. Celtic are always in the Champions League too, so I am sure that help my game get better too.”
