Medical today: Celtic set to miss out on potential wonderkid as deal with Premier League newcomers close

Celtic have still been looking to secure some transfer business despite the uncertainty in the dugout over the past few weeks.

Liam Shaw is the only one that’s been confirmed, but there were reports that suggested another potential young star was being eyed in the form of Rochdale winger Kwadwo Baah.

He was another one of those young talents who could be secured for a low fee because of his contract and the cross border rules, while he has played a lot of the first team this season so he does look like an interesting prospect.

He can play on either flank or through the middle and he’s got plenty of pace so he’s the kind of player that Celtic should be targeting, but it now looks like he’s set to join newly-promoted Watford instead:

Celtic will lose a few important attacking players this summer with Klimala already gone, Eddy looking likely and Elyounoussi ending his loan, so the priority has to be signing players who can start straight away rather than projects just now.

Despite that he still looks like he would have been an interesting signing, so it will be worth following his progress to see what could’ve been.
