Milan boss Pioli makes rotation hint

AC MILAN manager Stefano Pioli has hinted that he may rotate his side, who currently lead Serie A. As one of world football’s biggest names, Milan have been a sleeping giant in recent seasons; however, under Pioli they have enjoyed a run of 20 games unbeaten including a 2-1 win over Inter at the weekend.

As reported by SempreMilan, Pioli only wants to pick players that are physically and mentally prepared.

“The derby took away a lot of energy, both mental and physical. As always, in this period, we will have the three-week block with many close and competitive matches.

“I will field players who are mentally and physically ready, because the opponent will want to start strong in turn in their debut in the Europa League group, as well as having characteristics of physical intensity.”

The Milan boss has to contend with a game on Monday against Roma as well as the Prague game next Thursday so with injuries, he may be willing to shuffle his pack ahead of the game at Celtic Park. One man that Celtic fans will be anxious about facing is Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

“The team is doing well, because it’s the head that commands the legs. Zlatan is fine, as are his teammates. And I will decide on the team tomorrow morning.”

Celtic need to bounce back from an abject showing at the weekend and as long as they improve on Saturday and Sunday’s game against Aberdeen results in a Celtic win, I don’t think a lot of fans are too invested in the Europa League opener.
