Mooymania – Aaron’s ‘Great Night’

As Celtic kept their nine points lead at the top of the league looking down on theRangers on Sunday evening, despite some dubious officiating yet again, one man who certainly enjoyed himself at this one was Aussie star, Aaron Mooy.

The man who was brought to the club during the summer transfer window by his old coach at international level endured a mixed start to his Hoops career, with the former Brighton and Give Albion midfielder struggling with fitness straight off the bat. A particularly poor performance in Paisley against St Mirren earlier this season saw him come in for considerable flak from a section of the support.

However, he carried on and slowly but surely began to show his undeniable quality and vision on the football in a Celtic jersey. Of late, Aaron really has hit a purple patch and he was at it once again at Tannadice on Sunday evening – setting up Jota with a magnificent cross for an equally wonderful headed goal into the United goal.

Alongside Callum McGregor and Reo Hatate, the one-time St Mirren player has exceeded all expectations already and the Celtic supporters are currently in love with Mooymania. The classy operator reacted to his experience of Tannadice on Sunday via social media site Instagram, and the Celtic media team sent it out on Twitter. The message simply said: “Great night.”

I think we can all agree on that, Aaron mate!

I'm a Garngad Bhoy through and through. My first ever Celtic game was a friendly against Italian side Parma at Celtic Park, in 2002. Currently a student of English Literature and Education at the University of Strathclyde for my sins. Favourite game would be a toss up between beating Manchester United with that Naka freekick, or the game against the Oldco when Hesselink scored in the dying seconds. I'm still convinced Cal Mac is wasted playing that far back.
