Transfer Latest: “In terms of weapons, Tash brings a lot to the team,” Fran Alonso

Celtic FC Women manager Fran Alonso today spoke of his delight at bringing a top quality goalscorer from English Premier League side Leicester City on lan until the end of the season as the Hoops target a SWPL1 title and Scottish Cup double.

We reported on the signing of the 26 year-old goal-machine Natasha Flint earlier today and reminded you that Alonso is looking at adding an additional number 10 to his squad before the transfer window closes this evening.

Speaking to the official Celtic website, our Spanish manager outlined the reasons why he has moved to bring in a top quality, tried and tested goalscorer for the business end of the season.

“I’m delighted to bring Tash to Celtic,” Alonso said. “I’ve known her for a few years and I suffered a few times when she scored against my previous team.

“Tash is a gifted player with fantastic finishing ability, has great one-v-one skills and very good long-range shooting, so in terms of weapons, Tash brings a lot to the team,” the Celtic manager enthused.

“On top of that, Tash brings lots of experience at the highest level and I’m hoping the move to Celtic will add more silverware to her CV,” Fran added.

This looks like a great signing, replacing Clarissa Larisey was never going to be easy, but once again Fran Alonso has shown himself to be shrewd and creative in the transfer market.
