Murty walks away, King under scrutiny from Gerrard’s advisors

GRAEME MURTY has left Rangers this morning following the 9-0 aggregate defeats to Celtic over the past few weeks.

The youth coach was put in an impossible position by Dave King who undermined him ahead of both the Scottish Cup semi-final at Hampden, which resulted in a 4-0 defeat and then again ahead of Sunday’s ‘Title Decider’ at Celtic Park which Rangers lost 5-0.

King effectively dismissed Murty’s chances of landing the job before the Hampden game and before the latest Beautiful Sunday he leaked news of his contact with Liverpool youth coach Steven Gerrard.

King failed to attend either of these matches but was in attendance at Anfield to watch Liverpool play Roma in the Champions League semi-final.

Murty was supported yesterday by Brendan Rodgers, with the Celtic manager accusing the Ibrox board of putting Murty out with the garbage.

Steven Gerrard, having been a world class player in the richest league in the world, will have had the very best of financial advisors as he negotiated various contracts throughout his playing career. These advisors will currently be doing their due diligence on Rangers and in Dave King.

It is unlikely that what they find will be impressive.
