‘My work here is definitely not done’, Jesse Marsch cools Celtic link with Salzburg admission

Jesse Marsch has insisted that his work at RB Salzburg is not done as the 47-year-old looks to complete another double success in Austria this season. However, Marsch might have catapulted himself into the favourite amongst the supporters for the role after he issued a ‘come and get me’ plea to Celtic when speaking to BBC.

However, Marsch has cooled talk that he is looking to exit the Austrian Champions, stating that he and his family are happy with their situation despite Marsch stating his interest in becoming the next manager of Celtic. As reported by the Sun, Marsch is focusing on the next few months before appearing to commit to a decision, which means that Celtic could very well be in contention

“My work here is definitely not done, we have a lot of fun together.

“With the board and the group with Stephan (Reiter) and Christoph (Freund), with my coaching staff and the team.

“You will see what the next steps are. What is important for the club and for me.

“My family is very happy in Salzburg. We have made many friends. It is not necessary to take a step.

“The most important thing is to concentrate on our work. We now have two months.”

Marsch would be a marquee appointment for Celtic, especially considering how many top clubs hold Marsch in such high esteem. The American has a relationship with Celtic, established through ties with Red Bull with Celtic even sponsoring the coach to do his UEFA Pro Licence in Scotland.
