Neil Lennon gives transfer update after disappointing draw

SUPPORTERS found themselves wondering why Celtic couldn’t break down the dogged Kilmarnock defence at Rugby Park yesterday. Five subs were at Neil Lennon’s disposal but not even the reinforcements from the bench could give the Scottish Champions a second goal. It looked as if the bench was quite light and that reinforcements could help boost Celtic’s 10IAR bid, which Neil Lennon agreed with as he confirmed that they would look to get bodies in.

Speaking to The Scottish Sun, the Irishman said that they would like to get a few new signings in the door in the next few weeks.

“We are working away on a few things.

“The squad is a little bit light compared to what it was at the end of last season, so I would say we are looking to bring a couple of bodies in.”

Celtic have only signed Vasilias Barkas and Moi Elyounoussi this season but yesterday’s showing proved that there needed to be investment in the side. A central defender, a right winger and at least one more striker would give the side the needed depth to complete on all fronts.

Steven Fletcher and Albian Ajeti have been linked with moves to the Scottish Champions and hopefully both are secured, giving two different options in attack.

Another player that Celtic need to get fit is Tom Rogic, when tasked with ten men behind the ball, someone that can carve open defences and find a pass to cut through the line.
