Norwich City sign Sydney van Hooijdonk after Celtic loan Idah

Sydney van Hooijdonk has completed a move to Norwich City. The striker was linked with a move to Celtic at various points during the transfer window but no move transpired.

Football Scot journalist Mark Hendry has stated that the Celts were offered Van Hooijdonk but were not interested in signing the Dutch striker. The striker was keen on making a move in the January window as he’s keen on getting game time up. Now, the Championship club have confirmed the signing of the Dutch forward on a loan deal.

Celtic, meanwhile, fit into the transfer triangle in a peculiar way with SVH. The Scottish Champions have signed Adam Idah from Norwich City. The Irish Internationalist joins on a deal until the end of the season and the deals appeared to be linked together, with Idah making way for SVH.

Hopefully Idah is a success for Celtic but the fan base are quite disappointed with the transfer window. It had seemed that Brendan Rodgers would be back significantly when he returned to the club but so far the club have not started to shop in that upper market, where European football is the target. Now, the Scottish Champions will need to hope that the team stays fit as they look to clinch a Double.
