SCOTT MCKENNA looks set to seal a move to English Championship side Nottingham Forest. The 23-year-old central defender has been a transfer target of Celtic for some time but the Scottish Champions have opted against making a move for the Dons defender.
Notts Forest have agreed a deal with Derek McInnes’ side with an initial payment of £3m for the Scotland International with add-ons that will take the fee to over £5m.
Aberdeen and Nottingham Forest agreed a fee of £3m, plus £2m in add-ons, for defender Scott McKenna.@SkySportsNews understands that among the bonuses are “realistic targets” for appearances and international caps.
The deal also includes a 20% sell-on clause.

At just 23, McKenna has made 150 appearances in Scottish football and has been one of Aberdeen’s hottest prospects – with them demanding £10m for him at one stage to fend off suitors. However, it appears that the affects of Coronavirus have been felt in the pockets of the Aberdeen hierarchy with the acceptance of a bid this low.
Celtic reportedly made a £5m bid for McKenna in 2019 but both Celtic and Aberdeen denied that any offer had been made but that the Scottish Champions were admirers of the player.
McKenna falls into the no-nonsense category and since Celtic completed the signing (albeit on loan) of Shane Duffy, there is no need to compete for the signature of McKenna.
