Ntcham’s representatives pull out of deal as player wants Celtic stay, according to report

Olivier Ntcham has reaffirmed his desire to stay at Celtic by reportedly pulling out of talks with AEK Athens as the Greek side attempted to revive talks. According to Athens publication SportTime, AEK had tried to reignite talks with the Frenchman but

Ntcham had reportedly agreed on personal terms of £20k-per-week but Celtic would not release him from his contract and now it is being reported that Ntcham’s representatives made it clear that he wanted to remain at Celtic. Ange Postecoglou said after the win over Charlton Athletic that Ntcham was happy to stay at Celtic and fight for his place.

A loan move to Marseille did not appear to work out for any parties and if the manager wants him around, he can help get the trajectory of a really talented player back on track. Celtic need to replace Scott Brown in the midfield and if Ntcham is willing, he could become a key figure in Postecoglou’s team.

Since arriving from Man City in 2017 in a deal worth £4.5m, Ntcham has shown periods of extreme talent, coming up with big goals at big times for the Hoops. The midfielder signed for Brendan Rodgers and has made 137 appearances, scoring 23 goals in a trophy-laden period for the club. If Ange can get him playing, he could have a serious player on his hands once again. The player appears to be hungry to get himself back into the team, remaining at Celtic.

  1. Only allow him to stay if he signs an extension. Don’t let the feckless bawbag run down his contract.
