On This Day: Celtic lift 4IAR with win over Inverness CT

On This Day in 2015, Ronny Deila’s Celtic were handed the Premiership trophy after a 5-0 win over ICT at Celtic Park. Deila had his hands on the Scottish Premiership after Celtic put on a show in front of the Paradise crowd. Stefan Scepovic scored two with goals from Stefan Johansen, Leigh Griffiths and Kris Commons giving Celtic the perfect end to the league campaign.

Following the Scottish Cup exit at the hands of John Hughes’ side, Celtic were out to prove a point. Deila’s side had been robbed of the chance to win a Treble but they duly dismissed the Highlanders in emphatic style.

Deila built on from a difficult start at the Scottish Champions to build a strong team that dominated the league that season, despite a challenge from Aberdeen. Deila helped bring through youngsters like Callum McGregor, Kieran Tierney and Tom Rogic during his tenure despite being restricted in terms of spending in the transfer window.

Celtic went on to win 9IAR but just James Forrest and Callum McGregor remain from this team with Rogic and Nir Bitton leaving this summer.
