Open Goal: “He’ll play a big part in what we’re trying to do,” Ange praises James Forrest

Ange Postecoglou spoke about the role that James Forrest plays in his Celtic squad and predicts that the long serving winger will play a significant role this season despite not having had too much game-time in the opening five games of the season which have all resulted in the Hoops collecting three points to go clear at the top of the league, looking down on theRangers

And in this latest interview with the Celtic manager – OPEN GOAL MEETS… ANGE POSTECOGLOU! Glen’s Vodka SPFL Manager Of The Season – Ange explains how his four wingers at his disposal are all very different types of players and are capable of disrupting the opposition.

“He’s a great guy and he’s great for this club. You need guys like him and that’s why we re-signed him last year,” Ange Postecoglou told the Open Goal podcast. “He’s still very much a part of the club and even though he’s not played a lot of football yet this season, he’ll play a big part in what we’re trying to do.

“When you’re building a football team it’s not just about the team itself. It’s about the people you’ve got in the building and how you build a culture.

“Culture to me is people, if you’ve got good people in the building then you don’t have to worry about things and he’s a really good one. He’s had a great career here and he’s still really motivated to do well so I’m pleased that we’re able to have him as part of the group.”

James Forrest could get his first start of the season on Wednesday night at Dingwall when Celtic begin their defence of the League Cup away to Ross County. With theRangers and Real Madrid both coming to Celtic Park over the next week the Celtic manager will look to his squad to take on the challenge from the Highlanders.

Meanwhile have a listen to the latest Open Goal podcast with Ange Postecoglou who is becoming something or a regular guest. Wonder why?
