Opinion: It’s got to be thanks but no thanks to Daniel Farke

Another new name popped up in the managerial lottery yesterday in the name of Daniel Farke, as reported on The Celtic Star yesterday evening.

The German is on the job hunt after being given the boot by German side Borussia Monchengladbach after finishing in tenth place in last season’s Bundesliga.

He is better known for having managed Norwich City for a four year period between 2017 and 2021. Daniel Farke guided the Canaries to two promotions to the EPL, but suffered a relegation and was partly responsible for a second. In fact he created a top flight record of having lost fifteen games on the bounce!

It was reported by a reliable source Sky Sports source in Germany that Daniel Farke is interested in the position and has already been spoken to about the Celtic job. Let’s hope that isn’t true as I personally don’t think he’s the right man for us. I think he would be a disaster, and the overwhelming majority of the Celtic support think so too. Let’s hope the club say thanks but no Thanks.

Much more likely that he’ll be off to Leeds United though as they look to the German to get them back up into the Premier League at the first time of asking.

  1. Maybe not,but I would prefer him to most of the others including Maresca,Rodgers etc. Really worried that Maresca will be the man.
