Osaze Urhoghide loan move to Dundee stalls, says James McPake

Osaze Urhoghide’s loan move to Dundee has stalled, according to Dens Park manager James McPake. The young defender had been linked with a temporary switch to the City of Discovery in a bid to get some game time but McPake has said that despite talks taking place, the deal has stalled.

As reported by The Daily Record, McPake said that talks had been held but at the minute, the deal was off.

“We spoke to Celtic regarding Osaze. It’s got to the point where we have spoken to the player, spoken to the agent and it looked like it was going to happen.
“It has stalled unfortunately, at the minute.”

Urhoghide meanwhile joined as ‘Postecoglou’s first signing’ but has failed to really put down a marker in any of the games that he played during pre-season. Although, he did impress in the win over Real Betis in the Europa League, playing at right-back.

Time away from the club could be worth its weight in gold for the player, especially as he was so highly-rated arriving from The Owls. The player has only made 21 senior appearances (all coming from Sheffield Wednesday) so he was always to be regarded as one for the future as opposed to an ‘oven ready’ player for Celtic.
