Patryk Klimala makes 10-in-a-row pledge

PATRYK KLIMALA has made a 10IAR pledge to the Celtic support as he targets making an impact as the Scottish Champions look to win a record breaking 10th consecutive league title. The Polish striker joined Neil Lennon’s side from Jagiellonia Białystok in January but failed to really make an impact as Leigh Griffiths and Odsonne Edouard’s red hot form fired Celtic to their 9th title amidst a global pandemic.

Speaking to the Celtic Official Website, Klimala said that he is fit and ready ahead of the next season having remained in Glasgow during lockdown. The striker paid tribute to the club and set out his aims for the coming year. The striker has played four times for Celtic but is yet to find the net, only notching an assist during his first few months at the club.

“Celtic is a huge club and the fans are amazing. To be the champions nine seasons in a row is a massive achievement and hopefully I’ll help us win the tenth.

“When I came here, I knew it would be a hard six months for me, and it was. My aim next season is to play and score goals, but the priority is help the team win ten-in-a-row.

“When I was in Poland I always wanted to play European football. It’s always been my ambition and this is what I’ve always wanted. Now hopefully I can show my quality and hopefully this season we qualify to the Champions League.

“Neil Lennon welcomed me really well. I didn’t know what to expect because I had never moved club in Poland. The manager believes in me and hopefully I can repay his faith.”

Celtic have failed to qualify for the Champions League since 2017/18 season under Brendan Rodgers and would benefit greatly from the financial benefits that qualification would bring. Neil Lennon, of course, was the last manager to lead Celtic to the Last 16 and whilst a run is desirable, the main focus is winning 10-in-a-row.

Klimala has appeared fit and strong during the pre-season restart at Lennoxtown and he will be excited at the opportunity to prove his worth to the Scottish Champions who will be competing across all fronts from August.
