Photo Of The Day: Fortress Paradise, Over A Decade Of Virtual Invincibility In Europe

Today’s photo of the day provokes nostalgic memories of countless European nights at Celtic Park. From our Champions League debut in 2001 until Juventus beat us in 2013, we were virtually unbeatable at home. In Champions League matches at Parkhead (group stage and beyond) the Bhoys lost just two matches in 12 years – Barcelona 3-1 (2005), Barcelona 3-2 (2008) – prior to the Old Lady coming to town.

Man Utd came twice and left without victory, AC Milan tried three times, , Shaktar Donetsk, Villarreal, Benfica – the list is endless, whilst Barcelona and Juventus were both beaten to ensure they didn’t always have things their own way.
