Photo Of The Day: Roddie MacDonald Up For The Header

The return of the photo of the day feature this afternoon is something of a random rewind. The chosen image dates back to March 1978 when Celtic beat Rangers 2-0 Paradise in the Scottish Premier Division.

Roddie MacDonald was one of the goalscorers that day, adding to Ronnie Glavin’s earlier strike.

Here, Roddie is pictured leaping up to win a header in the match.

The scene brought back memories of another Celtic centre half wearing number 5, towering above all others in the air. Ironically, he would be found in the dugout just a few months later.
