Piling on the Agony – Kyogo’s Magnificent Seven in 2023

Kyogo finished the year as he started it by scoring against theRangers and in doing so he made Kris Boyd look an even bigger fool in the process. Delicious!

Kyogo Furuhashi bookmarked 2023 with goals against theRangers at Ibrox back in January and by scoring the winner at Celtic Park yesterday afternoon.

Kyogo has been off form by his own standards this season. That is not a secret, but yesterday he ended the year as he started it, by spoiling it for theRangers supporters. Don’t you love to see the wee Mhan hit the back of their net?

He of course grabbed a late equaliser at the start of the year at Ibrox which ended any hope of a theRangers title challenge, and yesterday he scuppered their momentum by helping to inflict their first defeat under Philippe Clement.

Kyogo’s goal was a thing of beauty just like his one at Ibrox back in September. Thats now seven derby goals in one calendar year. That’s a superb record from the Japanese striker. In fact it’s a Magnificent Seven.

Not only did it prove to be the decisive winning goal, it also made Kris Boyd look like a fool. An even bigger one than usual. Boyd of course when analysing Lawrence Shankland’s fine goal in the Edinburgh Derby on Wednesday said that Kyogo didn’t have that sort of goal in his locker.

Boyd of course was trying to be controversial like the deluded fool he is, but karma came back to bite him in the butt big time yesterday. Yes, he had to watch Kyogo score a fine strike against his beloved side yesterday. It was marvellous, not only the goal, but also knowing it wiped the smile off Boyd’s face.

Truly magnificent. Here’s to another Magnificent Seven in 2024!
