Pundit makes claims that Celtic will be ‘gutted’ due to exit

Football pundit, Tam McManus has claimed that Celtic fans will be ‘gutted’ following the departure of Giovanni van Bronckhorst from theRangers. Instead, he believes the Bhoys would have much preferred him to stay in charge of theRangers, though McManus admits whoever is appointed to the job won’t deter the Hoops at all.

At the start of this week, Giovanni van Bronckhorst was sacked from his position as manager of theRangers. Rumours have already been flying around about who will be taking the position at Ibrox, with Ross Wilson reportedly heading to London for talks with Beale over securing the role. This decision was taken after theRangers dropped 9 points behind the Hoops in the Scottish Premiership, a gap that may prove fatal to any hopes of theRangers winning the title.

McManus solidifies this point by claiming that the title is now in Celtic’s hands, and is theirs to lose. In his view, the change of direction with leadership has come too little, too late for theRangers, adding that for any hope of the title, they will have to play perfectly for the rest of the season, without dropping any points.

Speaking to Football Insider, McManus said…

“I don’t think Celtic are worried about who comes in. The title is in their hands, it’s theirs to lose now. Rangers are going to have to go perfect until the end of the season.”

“They have to win every game, I don’t see it. I don’t see them beating Celtic three times. It’s too little too late from a Rangers point of view. I’m sure Celtic fans will be gutted, they would rather Gio was still in charge to be honest, based on how this season has gone so far.”

“They were delighted to see their old rivals struggling and all of the questions being asked of the manager. (the)Rangers might get a boost from this. It’s a fresh voice, you see a new manager bounces everywhere but I don’t think Celtic will be bothered at all by this.”
