Read AVB’s Dossier on Celtic that helped Mourinho win UEFA Cup in Seville

WIM JANSEN played for Feyenoord on in their 1970 European Cup Final win over Celtic and then later in his career came to Glasgow to manage Celtic, delivering a League Cup and more importantly a league title in his one season as the Celtic manager.

Jansen of course stopped the ten and is regarded as a hero among the Celtic support to this day.

So Andre Villas Boas’ role in Celtic’ other lost European final -in Seville in 2003 – will certainly not go against him with anyone at the club. And having studied Celtic closely and witnessed for himself the size of the Celtic support on a global basis – he will need little re-assurance concerning the type of club he would be coming to.

Andre Villas Boas knows that Celtic are massive. It was him who compiled this report on Celtic for Jose Mourinho as Porto prepared for the UEFA Cup Final in Seville. Here’s the information that he gave to the Porto manager about Celtic…he certainly knows his stuff!

@CMcCeltic made a number of follow up posts as follows:

Would be class to get AVB. Although think we might face difficulty as Wolfsburg are in a position to offer him the job and would appear they have the cash to do it.

Wolfsburg kicking about European spots in Bundesliga but far from over the line with it. Europe could swing it.

Clearly; the path back into Premier League worked for Rodgers and managers will look at that. Their stock will rise if they do the Celtic job properly.

Not entirely sure AVB is particularly fussed by the Premier League, right enough.

Not sure you can see it clearly enough in this, but can’t find the long version.

AVB (Portuguese), coaching Edu Sport (French speaking), while speaking to the course participants in English. The goalkeeper he speaks too is German. Speaks to each individual in their language.

Suppose the point, he’s a likeable character and an intelligent guy.

And, if you haven’t already worked it out. I’m firmly a member of the AVBCSC.
