Ross County defender suffers broken leg after tackle against Celtic

Ross County have confirmed that defender Connor Randall has suffered a broken leg as a result of a tackle against Celtic on Saturday. The ex-Liverpool youngster was forced from the field after 71 minutes as he tackled Celtic’s Jota.

The Staggies took to Twitter to confirm that Randall had fractured a bone in his leg during the match and would therefore be out for a significant period of time.

It is an unfortunate result for Randall, who endured a torrid time at the hands of Jota. The superstar from Portugal assisted three times as Celtic won 3-1 in the Highlands. Jota was excellent and, unfortunately, if the form continues then he will be targetted by opposition players.

Randall will now miss the next game against Celtic in The League Cup later this month, along with a number of fixtures for Malky Mackay’s side.
