Scott Brown reveals the secret to ensuring Celtic continue to be successful if games are behind closed doors

The Celtic fans are a major reason why the team are so successful on the pitch, so there is a chance that playing games behind closed doors could take some of that advantage away.

Of course the team is still strong enough to win every game, but the Celtic fans almost always outnumber the opposition and that can help to pick the team up if things aren’t going well.

It seems inevitable that some of next season will need to be played without fans, so it’s interesting to hear how Scott Brown is approaching the situation.

His comments to The Herald were quoted by Inside Futbol, and it seems he thinks having a winning mentality is the thing that will help to drag them through:

The stadiums might be empty or they might be able to get some fans into them, I don’t know. I’m not sure how it is all going to work, but for me it’s still a game and you go into it with that winning mentality.”

“We’ll want to start the season off strongly just in the manner that we did last season and that’ll be the sole focus, regardless of the conditions in which we are playing.”

“Whatever comes and is put towards us, we need to deal with it. We’ll deal with whatever way it is safe for us to get onto the park. Once we get onto the park, the mindset will be to win.”

From a Celtic point of view there’s no other player you would want leading the team into a weird and possible unnerving situation, so having Broony on the pitch will still help to pick the team up and intimidate the opposition.

Hopefully we do see a situation where fans are gradually allowed to come back to matches, but it’s naive to think it will be any time soon.
