SKY SPORTS NEWS‘ Anthony Joseph has claimed that AC Milan are preparing to launch a bid to land Celtic’s Norwegian defender Kris Ajer. The reporter took to Twitter to inform supporters of the intention of the Serie A side to prise Ajer away from the Scottish Champions.
The Serie A side are reportedly looking to bolster their defence and they are eyeing up the 22-year-old Celtic central defender.
AC Milan are preparing a £15m bid for Celtic defender Kristoffer Ajer, according to our colleagues at @SkySport.
They understand the Italian club are due to make contact early next week.
Milan have been keen on the Norwegian international this summer.

Sky Sports News reported last month that the 22-year-old’s representatives had asked Celtic for a valuation of the player, ahead of a potential move away from the club.
It’s understood that Celtic have not received any bids at this stage.

Ajer joined Celtic from IK Start in 2016 for £500,000 as a midfielder; however, Brendan Rodgers retrained the youngster as a central defender. The Norwegian became a first team regular striking up a partnership with Dedryck Boyata and impressing in the centre of defence.
Ajer had struck up a formidable partnership with Christopher Jullien at the heart of the Celtic defence before Neil Lennon opted for a 3-5-2 in the second half of the season. The Norwegian has made 49 appearances in all competitions for the Scottish Champions as they won (at least) a double.
Following the Champions League exit to Hungarian side Ferencvaros, it was reported that Ajer would be keen to use the Euro defeat to force an exit from the club. Ajer will no doubt have seen the exits of Stuart Armstrong, Moussa Dembele, Kieran Tierney and Virgil Van Dijk and fancy his own chances away from Celtic in a ‘top five league’.
