Sky Sports man confirms Celtic have agreed compensation for Ange Postecoglou

Sky Sports News reporter Anthony Joseph is reporting that Celtic and Yokohama F Marinos have agreed compensation for Ange Postecoglou. The 55-year-old will now likely be named as the permanent manager of Celtic Football Club, over 100 days after Neil Lennon left the club.

Joseph tweeted confirming that the clubs have agreed a deal for the former Australian National Team manager. The J-League and A-League winner is somewhat of an unknown quantity but he has been successful wherever he has been so hopefully he can bring this to Celtic.

Eddie Howe had been widely expected to be announced but the deal fell through due to differences in approach to the backroom staff, leaving the door ajar for Postecoglou to become the frontrunner for the job.

In isolation, he is an interesting candidate and one that could do very well at Celtic. Unfortunately for him and through no fault of his own, he will arrive under intense scrutiny after the club’s very public and very lengthy pursuit of Eddie Howe. Not to mention the horrible year for decision making that the club have had. He will receive the full backing of the support and The Celtic Star. Hopefully he will be a major success.

  1. The Aussies absolutely love Ange and many back him to be successful! I am confident he will not be a yes man, or media pushover at the very least and given the correct backing we may have won a watch here!

Man for man we are still the best team in Scotland so it’s not unrealistic to expect success in his first season! I will be backing him to the hilt for sure!
