Sporar Talks Ongoing as Celts Look for Reinforcements

Celtic are in talks to sign Slovenian Internationalist Andraz Sporar, according to The Sunday Post. The highly-rated Slovan Bratislava striker is one of Neil Lennon’s top targets in the January transfer window as he looks to ease the burden on Odsonne Edouard.

25-year-old Sporar has scored an incredible 20 goals in 25 appearances and would give the Celts another option in attack, with Edouard.

Sporar is quoted as being available for between £5-£7m, which the clubs will be haggling over as the appeal of Celtic will be more lucrative than Dynamo Kiev or Bristol City – who have been linked with his signature.

Celtic’s other striking options – Bayo and Griffiths have failed to perform this year and one of them may be set to leave in the transfer window. With the Celts in Dubai at the moment, Lennon will be keen to have his reinforcements join up in the sun as they prepare for a Last 32 fixture, the Scottish Cup and, most importantly, the Title race.

Sporar is the kind of player Celtic should be looking to sign at this stage in the season. Sporar looks to be a quality striker and despite the outlay, may be the difference between 1st and 2nd… something that I can’t believe we have allowed to transpire.

Celtic are two points clear of Rangers in the Winter Break and are in need of reinforcements as we look to consolidate and retain our trophies from last year.
