Stay safe in Rome – Suggestions Celtic fans might be targeted by Lazio ultras

If there’s one thing that we all know about racists and general scum is they really don’t like to be shown up in public.

The recent banners and displays from Celtic fans have yet again made the world aware just how thoroughly unpleasant a certain section of the Lazio support can be. Managing to make a mockery of Mussolini’s granddaughter is just an extra bonus that’s come from this too.

Now it’s obvious that these people are cowards – they hide in large groups, behind masks and follow an ideology that screams of insecurity. This means in their minds the only way to show they aren’t cowards is likely to try and gang up and attack any isolated Celtic fans when they travel to Rome from the return game.

Keith Jackson usually talks nonsense, he’s written a story in The Daily Record claiming that the recent banners will put a target on every Celtic supporter’s back when they travel to Rome – this time he probably does have a point.

The game in Rome has a lot of significance for both sides. If Celtic win and Cluj get a result against Rennes then the Italians would be pretty much out of the competition.

It’s tempting to say that the result might have an impact on the moods of these “ultras” but it’s likely they just use football as a cover for their moronic activities.

Anyone travelling to Rome – make sure you stay safe !
