Talk of protests is premature, but if things remain the same come the start of September, then the Celtic support will certainly not be happy or silent…

Relations between the Celtic support and the hierarchy can be described as simmering at the best of times, but presently that tension is close to boiling over, and with very good reason.
We can’t deny that the suits have us in a good place financially thanks to the incredible support the club gets from the support, but their constant unwillingness to show any ‘ambition’ as Brendan Rodgers calls it and push the boat out when it comes to recruitment is bordering on incompetence or even insanity.
The last few weeks have been nothing short of embarrassing
The last few weeks have been nothing short of embarrassing with our club failing to bring in the desired quality we need to remain not only the dominant force in Scotland, but make our mark in Europe, especially with a £40m Champions League play-off tie to be paid in August.
We’ve been lowballing teams with offers for their prized assets, and refusing to pay the going rate despite sitting on record revenues which have swelled even further due to the £17m sale of Nicolas Kuhn to Como. All the while the wage bill has come down as the players THEY signed in the summer of 2013 have been offloaded one by one.

Then they get the Chairman’s puppet to state that it’s actually all Brendan Rodgers fault. Incidentally after Ange left and before Brendan was confirmed as our manager for the second time, he was being disrespected in that very same place, thankfully it has very little impact and next to no respect among the Celtic support and the new wave of Celtic sites thankfully not having this type of relationships with the Board.
There’s talk on social media of a flag-day protest
This has all led to relations between the club and the supporters being further strained, so much so that there’s been talk on social media of some action in the form of a protest, with an image of Michael Nicholson doing the rounds last night, similar to what we saw back in the covid season.

It’s not been confirmed but with all the bad tension and the lack of communication from our board – other than via their puppet – I wouldn’t be surprised if we see some sort of protest in the coming week, quite possibly on flag day against St Mirren on Sunday afternoon.
Talk of protests in understandable but also premature
For me personally, I think it’s ridiculous to talk of protests especially on the opening day of the new campaign that sees us raise the flag to signal our defence of the league title for the fourth consecutive year. The last time that happened was on when Fergus McCann raised the flag that stopped the ten and some supporters booed and that was down to the constant attacks on him in the tabloids, who incidentally still have their feet under the table at Celtic Park.

However, if things remain the same come the start of September, then that’s a different story and the Celtic support will let their feelings be heard. Why not just back the manager? Help him get us through the Champions League qualifier and pick up the extra £40m?

Waking up again to this shite. Why don’t u just go and support an English team then u can see them pay over the odds. This crap is embarrassing. Whah Whah Whah the child cried 🤣
Green hun
Over the odds? £5m a club want for their prized asset hardly over the odds what do out board offer a paltry £2.6 were you saying we were wanting over the odds for Kuhn or O’Reilly,
Open your eyes mate Rodgers is clearly not getting the backing he needs.Lawell is the common denominator here wake up and smell the coffee
Lol a love a good coffee, but the more you drink the less you can smell it. Anyway your right £5 million is nothing eh. How much do u earn per year 🤣what I was really getting at was, if you want an easy life go support an English team. If you want to support Celtic the it warts and all. I’ve been a supporter for vest part of 40 years and things haven’t changed much in that time. Come on all the old heads and older. I read sometimes I think what the fuck have we warped into. Anyway I wish you well friend. Peace be apon you 🙏hail hail keep the faith
I think it’s a case of reaping what you sow. The board have been incommunicado for too long. They’ve demonstrably lacked ambition for a calendar year (Idah and Engels) and have stripped first team assets whilst evidently – clearly – not been aggressively pursuing adequate replacements.
Is it fair to pinpoint an individual? No. Is it fair to blame a collective executive team who use fan money year in year out, who’s purpose is furtherment and development of the team?
Yes they’ve served us well financially, but how long does this fiasco need to go on before a message is landed publicly and loudly? 3 transfer windows? 4? When Brendan leaves? When the league is seriously jeopardised, or lost?
We should be building from strength, not kicking the foundations away.
They have a responsibility to do everything they can to improve this team, and not only are they clearly not doing everything they can to cover that objective, they are hiding behind silence and hiding behind the manager.
If a banner were to appear before the St Mirren game then I would not be surprised at all. I would welcome it as a timely reminder to the board of their wider responsibilities to the hundreds of thousands of fans that fund the football club in the first place.
The protest needs to happen this weekend. September is too late. Get these tory scumbags out of our club. Now you can see why Dom McKay didn’t hang around. He was clearly too modern thinking for these cliwns.
To the board celtic is just a business that makes a lot of money for them , to the fans it’s their love and passion, they only thing that will force them yo act is if the fans hit them where it hurts in their pocket, so protest and stop spending so much is the only thing they will respect
Hi Frank. The problem with running an enterprise solely on love and passion is that it will inevitably fail. It has to be tempered with good business acumen. We have the love and the passion for the team, but the board has the responsibility of keeping us financially strong. Before Fergus McCann, the club was run with love and passion and we almost collapsed. Since then, the bean counters have kept the club viable financially. So let us demonstrate our love and passion and let them steer the ship. (I think they love the team a bit too!)
Respectfully, I disagree. I think they need to be put on notice now. September will be too late.
No change is needed so protest, if it could work should be tried, Kyogos replacement should have been signed in the days before/after Kyogos move, especially knowing CL qualifying is in August, players should have been added Jan or the start of this window to bed them in in time, it’s as if our accountants board don’t realise how much is at stake in qualifying.
September is too late, time for action is when it can still get a result.
