Team’s Up – 3-5-2 for Celtic as Edouard starts up top

NEIL LENNON has named his side for this afternoon’s clash with St Johnstone at Celtic Park. The Irishman is under severe pressure to turn it around and as Rangers currently lead in the Highlands, his side could go 14 points behind ahead of kick-off. After another defeat in the Europa League, Lennon’s side need a comprehensive win with a current run of just two wins in eleven games – a shocking record.

With that in mind, Lennon has made one change from the team that lost in the San Siro with Hatem Abd Elhamed dropping out for Jullien.

In goals, Vasilis Barkas continues and he will be hoping for a performance after another anonymous outing in a Celtic jersey in Italy. The Scottish Champions have struggled in defence this season with Lennon alternating between Bain and Barkas and neither have covered themselves in glory between the sticks.

In defence, Lennon has gone with the defensive pairing of Christopher Jullien, Nir Bitton & Kris Ajer. Shane Duffy misses out with a knock. In the left wingback slot, Diego Laxalt continues with Jeremie Frimpong on the right.

In midfield, Scott Brown captains the side and he is joined in the midfield by Callum McGregor and Tom Rogic.

In attack, Lennon has decided to go with two up top, starting with Odsonne Edouard and Ryan Christie playing off of the Frenchman.

It is unclear if it will be a 3-5-2 with Christie joining Edouard up top or a 4-2-3-1 with Frimpong in attack and Ajer/Bitton playing at right back.

On the bench: Bain, Taylor, Griffiths, Klimala, Turnbull, Soro, Ntcham, Elyounoussi.
