Team’s Up – Celtic captain Callum McGregor starts for Scotland in Moldova

Celtic captain Callum McGregor starts for Scotland in the crucial World Cup qualifier against Moldova which kicks off at 5pm. A win will see Scotland secure their play-off spot and will not therefore not have to reply on results elsewhere or perhaps having to beat group leaders Denmark on Monday night at Hampden.

The Great Danes have so far managed a 100% win record in the group so losing to Scotland seems unlikely. Steve Clarke’s side will know that winning in Moldova is the safer route to the Play-offs.

So to the team. Former Celtic goalkeeper Craig Gordon has the gloves which the wing-backs are captain Andy Robertson and Nathan Patterson from theRangers.  It looks like the back three are former Celts Kieran Tierney and Jack Hendry plus Liam Cooper.

In the middle of the park Celtic skipper Callum McGregor is joined by John McGinn, another former Celt Stuart Armstrong and Billy Gilmour and it looks like Che Adams leading the line.

The goalkeeping subs are Zander Clark and Jon McLaughlin and the outfield subs Stephen O’Donnell, John Souttar, Jacob Brown, Scott McKenna, Celtic’s David Turnbull, Kevin Nisbet, Lewis Ferguson and Kenny McLean.

The Moldova v Scotland match from the Stadionul Zimbru kicks off at 5pm and is live on Sky Sports.

Come on Scotland!
