Brendan Rodgers has named his Celtic team for this afternoon’s Scottish Gas Scottish Cup Quarter Final against Hibernian. The manager of the Scottish Champions has named his strongest XI as Celtic look to secure a return to Hampden by beating the in-form visitors from Edinburgh.

David Gray’s side are unbeaten in 15 matches and they bring 7000 supporters to Celtic Park for the game. However, Celtic will be hoping to send them back along the M8 empty handed. The team to do that is as predicted by The Celtic Star yesterday.

In goals, Kasper Schmeichel starts.

In defence, Alistair Johnston and Jefferey Schlupp start in the fullback berths with Cameron Carter-Vickers and Auston Trusty continuing in the central pairing.

Callum McGregor skippers the side and he starts alongside Arne Engels and Reo Hatate.

In attack, Daizen Maeda starts through the middle with Nicolas Kühn on the right and Jota on the left.

Subs: Sinisalo, Taylor, Idah, Yang, McCowan, Kenny, Murray & Ralston

Idah, McCowan and Yang will be looking to make an impact from the bench, if required.
