Teenage sensation set to depart over summer, claims report

Having gained continental prominence over the last decade as one of the next big stars in football, Karamoko Dembele has admittedly flattered to deceive in his quest for a first-team career at Celtic Park in recent years.

Earning his plaudits at the age of just fourteen, Dembele has been linked with European powerhouses Barcelona, Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund in the past; however, there are ever growing concerns over his development and attitude on the fields of Lennoxtown. The Athletic report that many people involved are a little disappointed with the Dembele situation, citing he shows “exceptional talent, but there are concerns about his physical development and worries over his application and attitude.”

This is evident now more than ever given Dubai-gate; the team had thirteen cases of isolation following Christopher Jullien’s positive test, leaving chances for the youth team to come in. However, with Cameron Harper and Armstrong Oko-Flex being preferred to Dembele out wide, the London-born winger has received just twenty minutes of league football this season, only securing eleven in the Dubai-gate period.

As such, according to the Daily Record, Celtic’s hierarchy are finally – yet reluctantly – ready to let the diminutive winger move on this summer, with Nice and Lille interested in the English-born wonderkid. It is an incredibly gutting turn of events for not only the club but the player too, given just how much promise Karamoko showed in his earlier years, but with doubts over whether he will progress, Celtic have no option but to cash in on their prime prospect.

He isn’t set to leave just yet; as his contract is expiring this summer, clubs are usually able to offer a contract over the coming months – but because he is under 23, he will have to wait until summer to receive offers from abroad in what will eventually enhance his footballing career, given the lack of opportunities he is receiving at Paradise.
