The Celtic Star live at the Kerrydale with John Hartson & Stephen McManus plus Boolavogue live

Come along and join The Celtic Star live at the Kerrydale Suite at Celtic Park on Thursday 19 October 2023 as we officially launch Matt Corr’s stunning new book Majic, Stan and the King of Japan. This is the story of Gordon Strachan’s remarkable and eventful first season at Celtic and of course Big Bad John scored the goal against Hearts that won the league.

And perhaps the most iconic moment of that season was also against Hearts on New Year’s Day 2006 where Celtic found ourselves 2-1 down going into the closing stages before an unlikely hero emerged. Young Stephen McManus, in his breakthrough season as a Celtic player, popped up to get a dramatic equaliser before just moments later repeating the trick to win the match and sicken the Jambos!

John Hartson and Stephen McManus will join The Celtic Star to talk about that remarkable season and their own Celtic stories.

We also have live music from the wonderful Boolavogue and we’ll take the chance to celebrate the 66th anniversary of Hampden in the Sun, Celtic 7 Rangers 1 with the League Cup proudly on display on the night!

It’s going to be a brilliant night and we’d love to see you there! The night starts at 7pm and runs through to midnight, so that’s five hours of non-stop Celtic conversation and song. We will be adding more guests as we get newer the night and these will be announced on The Celtic Star. Tickets are priced at £20 or you can book a table of ten for £180 (just order nine tickets and this comes with one free). Please book early to avoid disappointment as we expect this night to sell out quickly.

Click on the image below to book your tickets, we’ve kept the cost as low as possible and of course there is no booking fee or any of that nonsense.

See you at the Kerrydale! All The Celtic Star team will be there, you’ll find Sandman propping up the bar, and it will be great to get a chance to meet the folk who read the site and help make it what it is! If you have any questions please email editor@thecelticstar.co.uk
