“There’s no propaganda around him, but he’s a top talent,” Brendan praises Edouard

PLENTY of Celtic news this morning and one of the most intriguing stories is the news from Brendan Rodgers that the agreed fee with PSG for us to sign Odsonne Edouard on a permanent deal this summer is NOT £7million. The lower it is the better for the club’s finances and the more likely that we will sign the 20 year old striker.

BRENDAN RODGERS ON A SUMMER MOVE FOR ODSONNE EDOUARD

*Celtic will pay the agreed fee to Paris Saint-Germain for striker Odsonne Edouard IF Brendan wants deal to happen.

*The often quoted £7million price Celtic would have to pay is WRONG, presumably it it lower.

*Brendan will make his mind up before the end of the season but rates the 20 year old striker, who has scored 8 goals including the winner at Ibrox on Beautiful Sunday, very highly indeed.

Here’s what Brendan has been saying…

“We have to respect he’s a PSG player, not a Celtic player. There is a clause in the deal and there has been an agreement – but we would need to trigger the fee.

“There’s a lot to do in terms of the bigger picture, too. He’s a fantastic player and we’ll see between now and the end of the season. But he’s settled in well and if we have any chance to do something at the end of the season then we can look at that.

“Because his representatives aren’t running about throwing him to every club under the sun, it doesn’t mean he’s not a top player. There’s no propaganda around him, but he’s a top talent.”

What do you think about signing Edouard on a permanent deal? Let’s say the fee required to get him is £5 million, would be it money well spent?
