Very few strikers in the history of the game have been as lethal as Thierry Henry was during his time at Arsenal. Thus, the Frenchman should definitely have an eye for a good striker. And his latest choice should leave Celtic fans buzzing.
Ally McCoist recently revealed that he had had a conversation with Henry in which the French legend was full of praise for his fellow countryman. As reported by the Daily Record, McCoist said:
“I spoke to Thierry Henry at the Liverpool vs Leicester City game and he really rates Edouard. He was saying in France in particular (Edouard is admired) and he personally really, really thinks he’s got a chance of going right to the top.”
The praise will mean an awful lot to Edouard. Being from France himself, chances are that he grew up idolising Henry. And thus, such high praise from one of his heroes should go a long way for the striker. Not that he has been lacking anything.
This season, French Eddy has been on fire as expected. In 34 appearances for the Hoops, he has scored 20 goals and provided 15 assists. And if he can keep up this form, Celtic fans will be celebrating a historical nine-in-a-row at the end of the season.
