At 2pm on 25 May, JFA (Japan Football Association) announced the squad for the  Kirin Challenge Cup to be held in June. They will play against El Salvador on 15 June and Peru on 20 June and his time three Celtic players, Kyogo Furuhashi, Reo Hatate, and Daizen Maeda were called up to Japanese national team.

“I evaluate that he continued to contribute to Celtic’s winning this season. And I know that he had results at Celtic, so I expect him to score goals in the Japanese national team. I want him to be involved not only in the role of scoring goals, but also in the part of creating opportunities for the team to score goals.”

In addition, Moriyasu said about Reo Hatate as follows.

“This time, I have called up great performance this season. When I build base of Japanese national team, I would like to see fusion between Reo and other players, how he has evolved at Celtic, and his tactical understanding.”

The activities of Japanese national team are scheduled to start on 12 June, Celtic Japanese players will join the team about a week after the Scottish Cup Final against Inverness Caley Thistle.
