Ange Postecoglou has today confirmed that star trio Reo Hatate, Jota and Liel Abada have trained all week and are available for selection at Hampden Park this weekend.
The Hoops have particularly missed the former two, while Abada has a great goalscoring record in the Glasgow Derby fixture. They will be a welcome boost to the Celtic squad, as they battle to win a domestic treble.
Postecoglou told Sky Sports: “From last week everyone got through unscathed and Abada, Jota and Reo have trained all week so they are available. Forrest is probably another week or so away.”
At the full Celtic media conference, Ange was questioned about what a difference those returning players will make the team. In response, the Celtic boss said: “Yeah it’s hugely beneficial for us as a group. I mean even training this week has gone up a level because we’ve got three more quality players who’ve joined in training and all three boys have missed a bit recently and are itching to get involved so it certainly helps not just with the starting 11, but with the ability to go to the bench and impact the game. So really pleased with that.
“We have training tomorrow so they need to get through that, but they’ve had a really strong week and I’m pleased that that they’re available.”
It is anticipated that Jota will start with Abada and Hatate, who have been out for a more lengthy period, set to be named among the substitutes. However, nothing has been officially declared in terms of team selection.
