The official Celtic TikTok page has uploaded a clip showing off Rocco Vata’s first goal for the Celtic first team.

Vata has been a crucial player for the Celtic B team in the Lowland League, scoring 12 goals in just 15 games. The 18-year-old made his first appearance for the Celtic first team this season against Celtic’s Viaplay Cup tie against Buckie Thistle. Vata displayed his recent terrific form in Celtic’s 5-0 mauling of Buckie Thistle by managing to place the ball in the back of the net for his first senior team goal.

Hopes are increasing that Rocco Vata will be offered a new contract at Celtic after all and it was interesting that he made the bench on Sunday in the Scottish Cup fourth round tie against Buckie Thistle and came on to play through the middle as a replacement for Kyogo.

The Japanese striker is our only striker at the moment, as Oh is away at the Asian Cup with South Korea. Is Brendan Rodgers planning on using Vata as his second striker and that may well suggest that there’s not going to be a new striker coming in during the January transfer window.
