Tranmere Rovers have confirmed the signing of Celtic’s Ross Doohan on a season-long loan. The 23-year-old links up with Micky Mellon at Prenton Park having worked together briefly last season at Dundee United.
Doohan has had loan spells at Ayr United, Ross County and United but will be hoping that his loan deal to EFL League Two will be fruitful. The player passed a medical today and will use the opportunity to gain some first-team minutes and prove to the Celtic hierarchy that he is a contender for the No.1 jersey for the future.

With Celtic signing Joe Hart as the new first pick goalie yesterday, Ange Postecoglou will likely want one of his other goalkeepers to follow Doohan out the door, even on a loan basis. Vasilis Barkas could return to Greece on loan with Celtic looking for a sizeable loan fee if they do agree to a short-term deal for the Greek Internationalist.
Celtic will still be looking to bring a number of players in the door over the next few weeks as they look to strengthen; however, there will likely be departures as the team needs to get some youngsters given relevant exposure to first-team football.
Good luck, Ross.
