As one left back leaves Celtic – at least for one season as Liam Scales today completed his loan move to Aberdeen – a new one appears to have agreed to join the Scottish Champions.
“There is verbal agreement for Alexander Bernabei to go to Celtic in Scotland. Lanús is exchanging documentation for an operation that is carried out for 90% of the economic rights,” Argentinian sports journalist César Luis Merlo reports.
So it looks like the fee has been agreed with Lanus securing a sell-on clause of 10% within the deal and Alexandro Bernabei will be a Celtic player very soon.
It will be a busy time at the SFA as they chase up details of that red card Bernabei received at the weekend so that they can ban him ahead of the new season. Remember the time they did the very same thing to Christopher Jullien when he was sent off in a pre-season friendly in Switzerland?

Celtic & Lanús have reached a verbal agreement for the left-back to move to Scotland.
This will be a permanent transfer with the Argentines due 10% of any future fee.

I’m not sure that your translation is accurate. On my reading, the 10% has nothing to do with a sell-on clause; rather it seems to only that C.F. Lanus owns 90% of the equity in the player ‘s contract and that another party owns the remainder….?
Sorry the auto-correct function on my device changed the meaning.
“Only” = “imply”. Sorry.
