Transfer for Celtic target looks more likely as he skips training ahead of European clash

There are lots of signs that a player could be closing in on a transfer, but missing an important game is one of the more obvious ones.

A report from MSN quoted the Daily Record in suggesting that Celtic target David Turnbull has missed Motherwell training ahead of their Europa League clash against Glentoran.

Although it might be a stretch to suggest that Motherwell boss Stephen Robinson is under pressure, his team are on an awful run and he could be in trouble if they crash out of Europe in an embarrassing manner.

The report also features quotes from Robinson where he confirms that he doesn’t know if Turnbull will play a part in the game, and there’s no suggestion of him struggling with injuries either.

They also point out that Turnbull almost joined Celtic last summer but a failed medical ruined that at the last moment, but it sounds like talks are ongoing a transfer this summer.

The fear with Turnbull would always be that he might not be the same player after missing so much time through injury but he’s come back as strong as ever, so hopefully he finally gets his move.
