Transfer Latest – Celtic announce new signing ahead of Glasgow Derby

Fran Alonso told The Celtic Star at his Media Conference on Friday that he was looking at bringing in a new player for the season run-in as Celtic chase a SWPL1 and Scottish Cup double and was hopeful that the signing would be announced ahead of the match at Broadwood Stadium against theRangers, who are the current SWPL1 Champions.

The deal had been agreed and was simply waiting on the paperwork – usually a visa – and that has now been sorted with new signing Kit Loferski going straight into the squad for the match under the lights at Cumbernauld, for the game which is live on Sky Sports.

Celtic Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of American forward Kit Loferski. The versatile attacker started her career in her homeland, and joins the club following a spell playing in Finland for Aland United. 

During her stay at the Finnish club, Loferski was one of three players nominated for the Forward of the Year award after helping Aland to Suomen Cup success, and a third place finish in the Kansallinen Liiga. Loferski also received recognition for her impact at the end of season awards being named the most valuable player of the year by the Aland Football Association.

She will now join up with Fran Alonso’s squad and will look to play her part in the final ten league games of the season, as well as a Scottish Cup semi-final tie in April versus Glasgow City. Everyone at Celtic Football Club welcomes Kit and looks forward to watching her journey in the Hoops!
