Celtic are sounding out potential alternatives to Kieran Tierney this month if they cannot get him from Arsenal earlier than the summer transfer window…
The club could possibly be in a late scramble for a left-back after they let Alex Valle return to parent club Barcelona, who have consequently loaned him out to Serie A side, Como.

A precarious position
The situation has now left Celtic a bit of a precarious position, as we now have Greg Taylor as the only recognised full-back in the left-hand side of the defence. Taylor, who played against Aston Villa in the 4-2 Champions League defeat, has still yet to commit to a new contract and there appears to be no change to those protracted negotiations either as it stands currently.

Greg Taylor has been a consistent performer
Greg Taylor has been a consistent performer for the Hoops these last several years but of anything should happen to him injury-wise we could be in a lot of trouble. Brendan Rodgers secured our place in the play-off places for the UEFA Champions League this year and will need a few reinforcements brought in for us to avoid embarrassment against either Bayern Munich or Real Madrid next month.

The Daily Mail have now reported that the Bhoys are sounding out potential alternatives to Kieran Tierney and that Manchester United star, Tyrell Malacia, is one of those on the list. Celtic would be looking for a short-term loan deal for the man who has recently just returned from an 18-month absence through injury. Real Betis are also interested in the Dutchman with a host of other clubs too.
Poor forward planning
It has to be said, it really is rather poor forward planning from the club and we should have had all our ducks’ in a row before consenting to the release of both Kyogo and Alex Valle. This situation weakens our negotiating position as teams now know we have these massive matches coming up and are desperate for replacements in key positions all over the pitch.
Hopefully Celtic can get the Kieran Tierney loan deal over the line but if not Tyrell Malacia could be a decent short term solution.
