Unique Angle – First Senior Goals for Celtic Academy Graduates McAneny and Burchill

Celtic TV’s Unique Angle from Sunday’s SWPL1 win over Dundee United at The Excelsior Stadium in Airdrie is well worth checking out. Fran Alonso’s exciting Celtic side won the match 7-0 and there’s some pretty special goals to enjoy.

Celtic Academy graduates Tiree Burchill and Maria McAneny both scored their first senior goals on Sunday
Clarissa Larisey opened the scoring, doing what she does

Clarissa Larisey got things started in the first few minutes with a fine finish after some lovely build-up play. The Canada international striker, who is likely to be heading to the Women’s World Cup in Australia in the summer, picked up an injury just before the interval and was subbed at half-time. However the good news from Fran Alonso afterwards was that it’s nothing serious and Celtic’s top goalscorer will be fine for the game against Motherwell a week on Sunday.

Shen got her first hat-trick while Amy Gallacher scored a stunner.

Chinese ulility player Shen (she can play well anywhere) tapped home the second, the first on her way to her first hat-trick for the club and having delivered that assist, Amy Gallacher thundered in number three from the edge of the box to complete the first half scoring.

After the interval Shen started and finished the scoring in the second half and sandwiched in between were the first professional goals from Celtic Academy graduates Maria McAneny and Tiree Burchill. Tiree’s dad was in the crowd and looked delighted a striker’s finish he would have been proud of.
