Unique Angle: Celtic v St Johnstone | Celts book their place in Scottish Cup final (20/05/25)…

Celtic this morning released the Unique Angle video from the Scottish Cup semi-final win at Hampden Park on Easter Sunday over St Johnstone. With the Celtic TV guys having a day off yesterday – unlike The Celtic Star as we never stop – there was no Unique Angle to drop into Sandman’s Definitive Ratings as we usually do.
Still good things come to those who wait and here we go with all five goals and the crowd volume turned up, unlike the highlights on the BBC that were shown on Sunday evening.
Only Aberdeen stand in the way of Celtic winning another Treble
Celtic will now play Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup Final on Saturday 24 May at Hampden Park with Brendan Rodgers and his team looking at securing yet another treble for the club during what is a remarkable generation of Celtic dominance in Scottish football.
Spare a thought for Leicester City and their fans as their relegation to the Championship was confirmed at the weekend. Makes that decision to sack Celtic’s elite manager – who has a 100% winning record at Hampden Park going all the way back the League Cup Final win over Aberdeen in 2016 – seem like a dreadful and costly error.

Rodgers extends 100% Hampden record as Leicester City get relegated
Leicester’s loss is clearly Celtic’s gain and it’s now up to the Celtic Board and our biggest shareholder Dermot Desmond to work their own magic by presenting Brendan with a new contract that will tie him to Celtic for the foreseeable future.
Rodgers returned to Celtic on a three year deal and promised to see that out. He recently confirmed that this will ‘150%’ happen unless Dermot tells his something different this summer, which is hardly likely to happen. After that Brendan is free to leave with his head held high and if he thinks he’s taken Celtic as far as he can that is exactly what he will do.

Celtic must show the necessary ambition to back Brendan this summer
However if the club show the ambition to back the manager in the transfer market this summer, as he strives to make Celtic a force to be reckoned with in European football, specifically the UEFA Champions League, then he could be persuaded to sign on for an additional three years to see that project through.
Any player looking at committing him future to Celtic this summer will have a question mark over the manager if he is going into his final year of his deal. Celtic like stability, sort out the manager’s future and that is a major source of insecurity removed from the wider picture.

The Celtic support has turned Hampden into a home from home
It makes perfect sense. Enjoy the Unique Angle from what was a very special afternoon at Hampden. We really have turned that into a home from home and figured out how to create a wonderful atmosphere in a stadium that didn’t seem up to it previously. And all done with no smoke bombs or flares from the Celtic support.
