‘Vic ain’t happening,’ reveals @paulthetim, ‘he hasn’t had any contact from Celtic’

VICTOR WANYAMA will NOT be joining Celtic in this transfer window after all, according to @paulthetim who has with a heavy heart had to admit that his dream of a return to Paradise for his favourite Hoops star just isn’t going to happen.

And Paul’s source is the man himself – Victor Wanyama who has apparently told the Celtic fanatic that he hasn’t had any contact from Celtic in this window.

“Vic ain’t happening the now he hasn’t had any contact from Celtic source the man himself,” Paul tweeted this afternoon.

Paul had at the start of the month promised to buy pies all round if Wanyama didn’t sign in this window and even earlier today was posting hopeful messages about the Tottenham midfielder being spotted in Glasgow this afternoon!

But when he hears from the ‘horse’s mouth’ that there has been no contact then he’s had to admit defeat.

Neil Lennon is also a huge fan of Victor Wanyama, who is completely out of the picture at Spurs. However when Celtic enquired about a loan deal in the summer they were quoted a £5million loan fee before even looking at his huge Premier League wages.

The player seemed to be keen on getting his return to Paradise but unless there is dramatic, last-minute contact then it’s a no-go for Victor Wanyama.

At today’s Media Conference Neil Lennon indicated that he’d be happy enough even if there are no more additions to the squad between now and Friday.

“If I don’t do anything else I’ll be happy. I have a great squad with real quality in it. We’ve got a couple of players in and we’ve streamlined the squad a little bit,” the Celtic manager said.

It’s somewhat disappointing that, if what Victor Wanyama has told Paul today is correct, Celtic didn’t even try to bring him home. The two new signings are young, projects and not the ‘oven ready’ players we all thought we’d be seeing arriving this month. Players that are ready to go straight into the first team and do a job.

Maybe the Hearts result at the weekend has resulted in the cheque-book going back into Lawwell’s top drawer?
