Video: 24 Passes, Rabona Flicks, Backheels And A Hat-Trick For Dembele – Total Football From Brendan Rodgers’ Invincibles

On this day, in 2017, Brendan Rodgers’ soon to be invincible treble winning team travelled to Perthshire to face St Johnstone. The Bhoys won the game 5-2, but the fifth goal stole the headlines as fans came away from McDiarmid Park in shock at what they had just witnessed – total football.

With the game at 4-2, Nir Bitton started a move which would ultimately culminate in one of the finest team goals ever scored by the Hoops. Indeed, 24 passes later, a touch from each Celtic player, a rabona flick from Lustig and backheel from McGregor; all set up Moussa Dembele to side foot home his third strike of the afternoon.

What a magnificent goal, and who could forget the press denouncing Lustig as “disrespectful” for showboating!
