Photo Of The Day: Jimmy Johnstone Plays Table Tennis With Denis Law At The 1974 World Cup

Today’s photo of the day brings you two football icons and Scottish legends in Denis Law and Jimmy Johnstone. The image, taken during the 1974 World Cup, depicts the pair playing table tennis. At that stage, both were European Cup winners and icons at their clubs, Manchester United and Celtic, respectively.

Law was a stunning footballer and Scotland regular, whilst Jinky needs no introduction. Law won the Ballon d’Or award in 1964, the only Scottish player ever to do so. Meanwhile, Johnstone came third in the 1967 Ballon d’Or and was nominated many times.
